Description: Here we offer the classic Sixties toy-- a genuine original Corgi Batmobile, along with a set of missiles and a great collection of ephemera, in near mint condition.This is the fourth version of the model with silver wheel hubs, tow hook, stationary jet exhaust (does not move,) mechanical chain slasher, and mechanical triple missile launcher. All the mechanical functions work perfectly. This Batmobile is solid--it retains the original factory weld and has never been rebuilt. It has no paint touch-ups and only a few tiny paint chips (please see close-up pics). The suspension is great in rear and flat in the front. The windshields and antenna are perfect. The car rolls smoothly. Batman and the Boy Wonder are original parts.This classic Corgi originally came in an oversized box, stuffed with a plynth--a fanciful display stand that wilted over time. Many collectors have a particular affection for the traditional Corgi box, which the toy store owner would retrieve by referencing the number displayed on its end flap, removing it from a glass-doored cabinet that was stacked high with boxes. You'd open the end flap, and the heavy car would roll into your palm.That said, rather than including a faithful repro box, (which can be easily purchased cheaply on eBay,) I've included here a "fantasy" box in the style of the older Corgi boxes, without the ungainly plynth or plastic window, but using the Batmobile graphics --a very stylish accessory this addition to your collection deserves--and something you will only find here.This high-quality box is wide enough so that the Batmobile can display on top, with the main box graphics showing.
