Description: Original antique color lithographed 1897 map of Dallas, Texas, printed more than 125 years ago. Dashed lines on the map show streetcar routes along McKinney Avenue, Ervay Street, and in the downtown area. The map also labels the Dallas & Oak Cliff Elevated Railroad — a steam-powered railway that crossed the Trinity River just to the east of Grand Avenue. Among the other named places and features are Masonic Cemetery, the Gulf, Colorado & Pacific Railroad, High School, Shady View Park, the Houston & Texas Central Railroad, Trinity Cemetery, City Park Water Works, Post Office, Episcopal College, the Texas Pacific Railroad, and Turtle Creek. The map was published by George Franklin Cram of Chicago in 1897. The image area measures 33 x 25.5 cm [13" x 10"]. Condition: This map is in excellent condition, bright and clean, with no marks, rips, or tears. Please see the scans and feel free to ask any questions. This is an original, authentic 1897 map, not a reproduction or modern reprint, and it is fully guaranteed to be genuine. On the reverse side there is a street map of Buffalo, New York, in similar style and format. Either map would make a wonderful display in your den or office, and we'll include our helpful framing tips with your purchase, along with a photocopy of the dated title page from the book in which this map was published.
