Description: This handsome handmade German antique marble has a white coat with a decorative panelled overlay of cobalt and raspberry pink. A deep stripe of navy blue emphasises a great corkscrew twist. A thick outer layer of clear glass enhances the marble, which also has a finely faceted pontil, indicating that it was made during the earlier phase of swirl production between 1860 and 1880. Type: Made in the German glass factories of the 19th - early 20th C, the antique Onionskin type has loads of visual allure. The styling include stripes and strokes or speckles, running vertically all around, and the designs and hues come in many varying combinations; making them highly collectible and a favourite of even the most discerning of enthusiasts.
