Description: This is an interesting and rare type of Northwest Coast fish hook -- made by the Haida or Tlingit. It dates to the late 19th century. It's comprised of an iron hook; blue, white and red colored European glass beads; cotton or animal sinew string and the shank, in the form of a fish, is bone. This is not a Halibut hook; this rare and unusual hook would've been used to catch Salmon, Roundfish...Cod...etc. Measurements: Length is 9.5 inches.
