NAUTICA truly captures the spirit of the lifestyle of a waterman; they're so preppy chic but in such a specific way. Waterman, like sailors, tend to have a very clean cut yet kind of rugged, preppy style, and NAUTICA has chosen to represent this lifestyle, and I'm all for it. However, they're so good at this that they transcend their little sphere of influence and reach all the way into streetwear. You could probably thank surfers and skaters for bringing the ocean style to the streets. I really do enjoy deep water fishing, and these shorts represent a hundred trophies for people who love to fish; there are Marlin, Tuna, Swordfish and various other kinds of fish printed on these shorts. It's a navy colored pair of shorts with a categories of fish printed on it; it does sound a little crazy and silly, but in some strange way this print and navy color make this a super preppy item. It just works! I can picture someone wearing a white polo t-shirt with a pair of vans without socks; so preppy chic.
