Description: This auction is for a two-sided photocopy of a vintage Mopar Direct Connection Racing Manual for the LA engine family of 273, 318, 340 and 360 cubic inch engines. This piece was crafted by Chrysler Corporation in the 1970s and has 82 total pages. My uncle was an engineer at Chrysler Corporation in the 1960s and 1970s and we found the original document for this in his work files after he passed away. The introductory paragraph of the piece captures its purpose well, reading "This racing manual has been prepared as a guide for the customer who wants added performance or reliability from his 'LA' engine. Included are tips covering different types of racing for all four engine sizes that have been produced to date. The procedures outlined in this manual represent those that have been tested by Chrysler Engineering, working both at the race track and on the dynamometer, as part of its continuing performance development program. This development program serves as the foundation for the Direct Connection parts program." This is a very unique find and provides tremendous insight to what Chrysler recommended back in the day to get more performance out of your engine if you wanted to go racing. Please see the photographs for details. Happy bidding!
