Description: 1st Edition Brace of Oxen, Summer- This is a rare handmade silk-screen print on 5mm beaverboard/pulpboard. Size is 12x11.5in. Artist Neil Waddington in Halifax was commissioned to produce these handmade silk-screen prints for Bill Ferguson and did an exceptional job. Very few were made and sold. When Bill Ferguson discovered Maud Lewis in 1962 and got copyrights to make reproductions, this image along with the deer image were the first two images he made reproductions of. It wasn't until the 1980's that he added an additional 7 images to complete a larger set. This 1962 edition is older than most of Maud's original paintings. If you are looking for a rare piece of Canadian history, this is your chance! This silkscreen print is in very good condition, has some minor marks/imperfections but no fading and very vibrant.Professionally framed from Zwickers Gallery in Halifax with UV glass. This type of framing creates a floating look so you can see the boards that were used and how thick they were. You can also view this print on my website MaudPrints.ca
