This is one of the most versatile mangoes that you can have- it can be eaten green, ripe, made into talkari("Curry mango"), Chow, Chutney, and countless other dishes. It is a fibrous type, so it is definitely not a slicing mango, but it can be definitely juiced for a delicious treat. It has a very citrus forward flavor, almost like a cross between a sweet tangerine and a mango, with no sourness at all. This particular seedling( this type of mango is polyembryonic, meaning it is true to seed) is descended from a 150 year old mango tree! Mangos were brought to Trinidad by Indians in the late 1800s, and numerous variations occur on the island- but this "Long" variety is one of the most utilitarian mangos around!
