Description: Kosta Boda Amber Glass Hurricane Lamp Designer or Artist: Bertil Vallien Year Of Design: c.1960s Company or Studio: Boda Country: Sweden Height: 230 mm / 9.1" Width or Diameter: 95 mm / 3.7" Notes: A scarce vintage glass hurricane tealight lamp with blue-painted cork base, an early design by Bertil Vallien for the Åfors glassworks shortly after he joined in the early-mid 1960s. The balluster-shaped glass shade is decorated with swirls of yellow and orange opaque glass chips marvered onto the surface and fused flat. Bears original paper factory labels. These are New Old Stock (NOS) and come from the clearance of a Copenhagen glass shop that closed in the 1970s. Condition Report: Tiny areas of rust to the back, but generally in excellent condition.
