Description: For your consideration is this 4.5 inch tall, Carstens Elmhorn vase from Germany. Created during the Jugendstil period of 1890-1915, this era of German creative roughly coincides with and was a part of what is commonly referred to as the "Art Nouveau" period in the Western World. This vase is in excellent condition. See condition description and ample photos in this ad. It shows very minimal signs of wear and is an art object of exceptional beauty. The vase does not have the Carstens Elmhorn maker's mark, but its flower pattern, shape and size clearly indicates it is their product. It has an impressed number "34" on the underside, along with the ink-stamped "Made in Germany." Like most of the Cartstens Elmhorn vases of this period, it is handmade. The floral patterns on the vase are free flowing and naturalistic, in line with Jugenstil / Art Nouveau style. The colors are vibrant with white, green, yellow, purple, red and dark blue.
