Frank Capra (three Academy Awards), Its A Wonderful Life, Mr. Smith Goes To Washington, and It Happened One Night, to name a few. Ford joined the navy and concentrated on the Pacific Way and was wounded in 1942 at Midway Island, but continued filming the assault. Capra, recruited by the U.S. Army, combined Germanys propaganda footage with front-line action to show Americans Why We Fight!
