Description: This Japanese saw or nokogiri was hand forged by the Japanese master blade maker, (translation upcoming) (see pictures 6, 7, & 8). Unlike European saws which cut on the push stroke it cuts on the pull stroke. This allows it to have a thinner blade that cuts more efficiently and leaves a narrower cut width (see picture 10). Made of a high quality laminated carbon steel and carefully milled by hand. It has the blade smiths name hand edched on its forged iron blade. (see pictues 6 - 8). The Anahiki-nokogiri crosscut saw is used to cut logs or large beams, or do any rough, preliminry work. The blade is slightly curved (see picture 9) allowing every tooth to touch the wood without slipping on the sawdust. This saw is new old stock and has never been used. The handle it has been paired with is also a new-old stock bamboo wrapped cryptomeria wood (see pictures) in very fine condition. This Anahiki-nokogiri saw is complete with all teeth sharp and , having never been used, with the exception of some minor oxidation, remains in excellent condition throughout, as seen in the enlarged pictures. .
