His research interests also include monsoon climate variability, predictability, climate extremes, and physical oceanography. He is involved in capacity-building by teaching courses on air–sea interactions and ocean dynamics. Anant Parekh is a Senior Scientist at the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM), Ministry of Earth Sciences, Pune. His areas of research cover monsoon variability, predictability and forecast, ocean modeling to study physical processes for ocean temperature, trends and variability, validation, and application of satellite data for ocean studies, and assessment of coupled model/ocean reanalysis. He is involved in teaching and training programs for meteorology and oceanography. C. Gnanaseelan is a Senior Scientist and a Project Director at the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM), Ministry of Earth Sciences, Pune.
