This sale is for one Vintage Virgin Mary Immaculate Conception 1940s Angels Made in Spain 9.5" W/Halo A glorious and serene vintage figure of Vintage Virgin Mary Immaculate Conception. Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception, standing with her hands clasped to her chest, three angels at her feet and complete with halo. The statue was made in Spain and dates to the 1940s although it may be earlier. This is a stunning religious statue, made from pasta de madera, a wood paste which is a lighter weight than plaster. Many famous churches feature large sculptures made of pasta de madera. It is hand-painted with some gilded highlights, and original halo, and set upon a wooden base. REPAIRED: It is in fair condition for its age - there are minor chips and paint loss, and two repairs to mend where it must have fallen and broken almost in half(?) are at the base of Madonna's neck. This statue deserves close inspection to take in all the lovely detail, despite the damage/repair. I urge you to zoom in and look closely at all the pictures before purchasing. The halo is removable and will be wrapped securely and separately in the package when shipped. The statue stands approx 9 inches tall without the halo; with the halo it is 9.5". It weighs 11 ounces.
