Il Bisonte Vintage Brass Hardware Limited Edition Heavy Leather Clutch Bag

Description: *NOTE: It has only recently been brought to my attention, that this was not originally a clutch (as it presents) but a - shoulder - bag… Why? Well…so clean are the - cuts - at the sides of the bag (nearest the side flaps) that I’d never noticed the modification. I’ve owned this piece for DECADES - mind you….. it was a supremely odd moment when it was pointed out that “hey, where is the strap?” The cuts are - so - clean at the sides… and the bag presents - so - ideally as a clutch - that I’d never noticed the alteration. That said, while the bag presents so flush - so intentional - I could hav exempted the mention of the alteration, that is not - me. Yes, the bag has been modified… but in my mind? For the better… in every way this piece presents as a clutch…and the cuts are so - CLEAN - that for many years, I never even realized it was modified in any way! This is a beautiful vintage Italian made limited edition Il Bisonte plush leather and heavy brass hardware clutch bag. Finding vintage Il Bisonte in this condition is a VERY hard to do - on top of that, this is the only model currently listed for resale anywhere online. It is an impeccably conditioned Il Bisonte vintage bag, that was limitedly produced in the early 90's. The first thing one notes when seeing - and holding - this bag in person is always the quality of the leather. The leather is a beautiful deep brown in tone, the sides of the leather a bright tan. The leather is without stains, frays, or any blemishes of any sort. It is soft, malleable, and plush. Not dry and flaky as many vintage Bisonte leather bags tend to be. The bag is features a stunning embroidered front flap, which covers most of the front of the bag when flipped down. A leather strap runs down the center of this flap, and is threaded through a bold, high polish brass hinge - beautiful, and very functional. The strap at the front is embroidered with the now world famous Il Bisonte logo, star, and leaping bison in finite, precise detail... the work of skilled human hands, not of some factory machine. One of the greatest elements of this bag is its very secure closure. The front flap is more a stylistic element - as to access the main storage compartment of the bag there is a zipper that runs from one eeend of the top of the bag to the other. This means that NOTHING is going to accidentally fall out of the bag - ever. The zipper track at the top features a solid brass, Il Bisonte zipper pull. To access the main storage compartment of the clutch, lift the front flap all the way and simply unzip. The inside compartment measures 10 inches in length at widest point, and is about 8 1/2 inches deep! The interior here is simply stunning - the dark green lining a BEAUTIFUL contrast to the solid brown hued leather. There is a tag on the inside compartment for authenticity that reads " Designed by Wanny Difilippo: Genuine Leather: Made in Italy." This tag is done in the colors of the Italian flag. There is an additional storage pocket inside the main storage compartment of the bag that is zipper opened/closed. The zipper is a beautiful brass, and bears the Il Bisonte logo with another leaping bison. This little pocket measures 7 inches in length by 5 1/2 inches in depth. Again the lining of this pocket is the same as the main storage compartment - a beautiful deep green. The general dimensions of the bag are 10 inches length, by 8 1/2 inches height, by 4 inches thick. Overall, this is a stunning, VERY hard to find vintage Il Bisonte handmade Italian clutch bag - in a condition that rivals (and beats) all other Il Bisonte vintage pieces out there... beautiful. ~If you have any further questions, or would like to see any additional photos, please do not hesitate to reach out in the form of an email.
