Description: Listed and pictured here is a lot of 40 G.I. JOE comics. They are all modern-era comics that were published between 2001-2008 by Devil’s Due Publishing! Every issue here is from both of the DDP ongoing series for G.I. Joe although it’s worth mentioning that the limited series and tie-ins are definitely also worth checking out! DDP started as an Image Comics imprint and most of the issues from vol. 1 of the DDP ARAH series carry the Image logo, as DDP became independent as of issue # 26. The series picks up where the Marvel Comics series ends (G.I. Joe # 155) and was seen as canon continuity until Larry Hama started his own continuation series at IDW. At that point, these issues became known as the “Disavowed” and “Reinstated” continuity. The first series was written primarily by Josh Blaylock and Brandon Jerwa with America’s Elite being written primarily by Joe Casey and Mark Powers. Some of the writing and plot lines proved to be controversial, but ironically, Larry Hama picked up some of these very themes for his currently running G.I. Joe ARAH series for IDW and Skybound! The cover and interior art for the comics in the DDP ongoing series continuity was stellar for both volumes! The series boasted inclusions/contributions from such artists as J. Scott Campbell (all four of his cover art issues are here), Jamal Igle (Shi, Superman, Nightwing, etc), Udon, David Michael Beck and more! Devil’s Due Publishing’s G.I. Joe books are also known for introducing the world to artistic talents such as Tim Seeley (of Hack/Slash, Revival, Batman, etc fame), Artgerm, Steve Kurth (Matrix, Hulk, Iron Man, etc), Stefano Caselli (Hack/Slash, Amazing Spider-Man, New Avengers), Nelson Blake II (Romulus, Witchblade, Luke Cage), Mike Bear, and more! This lot of comics are “high grade” - with the average condition being VF (8.0). Some may be slightly higher or lower.
