Description: Huge Cut Crystal Empire Style Urn with Gilt Metal Mounts. 20" Tall. 12" wide across the handles. 20th Century Empire Style cut crystal urn. The ornate scrolled brass handles are decorated with a large Acanthus? leaf with 3 berries and attached to the vase by a wide ornate etched brass collar. The crystal vase is a heavy blank with a baluster form . It has a raised round foot cut in an intricate spiral pattern with cross hatched rim. The stem has alternating panel cut bands and a spiral cut band. The lower body is cut with large hobstars and small starbursts in a random pattern below a band of wide panel cut and polished lozenges. The shoulder of the vase is cut with an even wider cut band of reverse S shaped spirals. The neck is cut with a band of smaller lozenges below the ornate brass collar and and a band of cross hatching above. The top rim has another wide band of panel cuts and a cut and polished lobed top edge. The vase is in excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks or repairs.
