Description: A high quality French Brass and Gilt Dent Chiming Mantel Clock in full working order. It has been cleaned and oiled and the case polished and protected with Renaissance wax polish. Dent, and address, 61 Strand London, are on the dial silvered chapter ring. The movement is a high quality Achille Brocot movement, numbered 1754 with the AB five pointed star trademark stamped on the backplate (see picture). The pendulum is also numbered 1754. The movement chimes the half hour and the hours on a blued steel coiled gong. There is a key operated through dial speed adjustor. The brass case is numbered 3547 and includes gilded gadroon motifs which match the dial bezel. The centre of the dial has a silver and brass design on a black background. Below the dial there is a depiction in brass with black background of dogs chasing a deer through woodland and a startled bird. The case has a bell top shape with a single brass finial at the apex. The case is flanked by two ribbed brass pillars which have gilded capitals and bases. The case is supported on brass feet. Dimensions:Height 15 inchesWidth 9 inchesDepth 6 inches.
