From what I was told the safe was made in the late 1800s.It was used in a gas station, so that nightly cash deposits could be dropped in the safe for safekeeping. I had it at my gas station for over 30 years and it worked perfectly. The combination still works, but sometimes you might have to go back-and-forth with the wheel before it will catch, it might need just some adjustment, or maybe the gears are worn out, I do not know.
