Description: Here is a nice Carolina Influence Root Head Avocet Bird Decoy carved by my myself (Sam McKamie). It is carved with pocket knife and rasp from cedar after I did the initial sawing and drilling. This beach bird is of two piece construction with the head and neck of Root Head design and the wings are relief carved as shown in the pictures. This beach bird is painted in a gunning style like those decoys of old. Stand is included. This bird measures 11 1/4 inches long from the tip of the tail to tip of the bill, 10 3/4 inches tall, and from 1 1/2 inch stock. It will make a fine addition to any collection.
