Hand signed and dated 1987. This is his early gold leaf woodblock print on silk, and professionally framed with artist biography and Kanda's Gallery, Japan, labels on the back. Measures with gold tone frame: 24 3/4" x 18 3/4 inches (63 cm X 47.5 cm) Viewing area: 18 x 13 1/4 inches (46 cm x 33.5 cm). In excellent pre-owned condition. Frame has some scuffs/scratches, please view all photos. Hajime Namiki was born in 1947 in Tokyo, Japan. He had originally studied the art of sculpture under Shigeru Ogura. Today he is better known by his woodblock prints, which he began to create towards the end of the 1970's. His works are collections of many public and private institutions; among which, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the Art Institute of Chicago, the New Orleans Museum of Art, and the White House in Washington, DC.
