I do believe that this-one was actually a " Fashionable ! " Mid-Late-'80's ! attempt to make a Really " Cool " Jerry Garcia Pin ! And yeah ... it's totally cool - but ... what I've always loved about it - is the printed ' name ' - " Jerry Garcia " ! Ha !! I mean like we don't already know that ... but, then I got to thinking about it - and, in 1987 - right around the ' arrival ' of both ! ' In The Dark ' ! and " Touch Of Grey " !! - I suppose that " Jerry Garcia " was actually kind of a ' new ' household-name to the brand new & younger generation of Dead Fans ... or, newly-recruited Dead Heads !!! - if I may ... Ha ! Salute to Garcia ! - or, oops ... I meant salute to " Jerry Garcia " !!! Plus, I love the real serious look on his face too - as this was actually one of the photos used for some of the Late-'80's & Early-'90's J.G.B. Ads in the Newspapers ! In fact ... I can even remember that this ! exact-photo was used for the Newspaper / Handbill Ads the very-last time the Jerry Garcia Band ever came up here to play Portland ! This here was actually the ' Official ' 1987 Grateful Dead Productions J.G. Pin from the Late-'80's - and, if you take a look at the side of the pin in the photos ... you can read 1987 Grateful Dead Productions ! So cool, for certain ... and so ! Rock & Roll - and Rock-Shop too !! Yeah ! This one measures a cool 1 1/2" Inches ( in diameter ) - and, if my memory serves me correctly - I'm pretty certain that this was kind of a famous-photo of Garcia ( by Herb Greene ? Maybe ?? ).
