Description: DescriptionGibson USA ES-335 Cherry Early 1970's Vintage Electric Guitar This is an early 70's ES-335 with GIBSON embossed on the pickup cover. The body is maple, the neck is mahogany, the fingerboard is rosewood, the nut width is 40mm, both the front and rear pickups have been replaced, the front is made by Seymour Duncan, the base plate has a sticker with JMBL printed on it, and the output is thought to be SH-2, rather than 7.9KΩ. The manufacturer of the rear pickup is unknown, but the output is 15.6KΩ, which is close to the SH-4 or SH-5 in Duncan terms. There are dents the size of a sesame seed and peeling paint on the corners next to the F hole on the 6th string side, and the paint has peeled along the binding in the area where you hold it under your arm when holding it. The jack part has a crack repair that is often seen on top jack models such as the 335, and the surrounding area has been oversprayed after the repair. The back has buckle scratches and peeling paint appropriate for its age. There are also small scratches and dents the size of sesame seeds scattered on the sides and bottom. There is a lot of weather checking on the back of the neck, and the paint has peeled off in places. Of course, this does not interfere with playing. As for parts, the pickups have been replaced, the pots have been replaced with CTS 1976 models, and the wiring has also been replaced. The plated parts show wear and peeling of the plating appropriate for the age, and the end of the bridge on the 6th string side has been cut at a slight angle. This was probably done to make it easier to mute because the corners hit the hand when playing. The wire that secures the saddle has also been bent to prevent resonance. There are also bends in the pegs for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd strings. There are no problems with tuning. The neck is in good condition, and the truss rod is functioning properly. The frets are the original wide and low frets from that time, and although they are a little low, they remain at a height that allows for easy playing. There are dents, scratches, weather checking, etc. appropriate for the age of the instrument overall, but the paint still has some luster and the instrument is in good condition.
