BRADSHAW (1880-1968) OLD BARRACKS TRENTON NJ FRAMED SIGNED ETCHING This historical rendering of the Revolutionary War Old Barracks in Trenton, N.J., is in excellent professionally framed condition from a smoke-free, pet-free home. Drypoint Etching on Paper.Hand-Signed (Bradshaw also put his initials GB on the etching in the grass right above his penciled signature. This is the only etching known to have that distinction).Print: Approximately 13” x 7.5”Framed: Approximately 20" x 15" Bradshaw’s biography is well documented online, and Thomas Edison State Universiy hold a large permanent collection of his etchings, as well as being held in the permanent collections of The Library of Congress, The New York Public Library, The Vanderpoel Gallery in Chicago, Newark Museum and the University of Nebraska, in addition to many private collections. A student at the Trenton School of Industrial Arts, Bradshaw was a pupil of John Ward Stimson. In addition to paintings, he is particularly noted for his extensive output of superb etchings depicting views in Trenton, Newark and other New Jersey locations as well as further afield in the USA. He latterly spent a long time as an instructor at Trenton School of Industrial Art and was a full member of the Brooklyn Society of Etchers, The Chicago Society of Etchers and the North Shore Artists Association.
