Description: Window card for the 2019 Broadway production of "Freestyle Love Supreme" which played at the Booth Theatre for 117 performances. The title refers to an improvisational hip-hop comedy musical group started by Lin-Manuel Miranda and Anthony Veneziale with direction by Thomas Kaile in 2004 during rehearsal breaks for Miranda's first Broadway musical "In the Heights." Initially, it was a project for young artists to experiment with theater and musical sound. It eventually became a performing group featuring rap and beatbox, giving virtually unscripted performances which intended the engaged audience to participate in the show, provide suggestions, and occasionally join the performers on stage. The group performed in both off-Broadway and Broadway venues 2019-2020 to celebrate their 15 year anniversary. Special guest performers were a given during the Broadway run and on opening night the surprise luminaries included Wayne Brady, Daveed Diggs, James Monroe Igelhart, and Christopher Jackson. On other nights the surprise guests included such eclectic performers as Josh Groban, Kid Lucky, Ian McKellen, Amber Ruffin, and Helen Mirren. The New York Times gave "Freestyle Love Supreme" a Critic's Pick designation and the headline of Ben Brantley's rave review trumpeted "Hip-Hop Saves the World." The window card measures 14 x 22 inches and is printed on standard card stock. The item is in mint condition without creases, scuffs, or edge wear. Colors are vibrant.
