Description: Nice piece of Dutch design Raak Globe floor lamp designed by Frank Ligtelijn for Raak in 1960. A clear glass sphere containing a light metal aluminum reflector on a chromed tripod. Adjustable lamp in height. The height is adjustable from 1.25 m to 1.75 m. The sphere can rotate in all directions on its axis and provides direct or indirect light. Stamped Raak on the underside of the base. This piece came from the estate of a woman who moved to the United States from the Netherlands. She brought this piece with her. Lamp turns on and off as it should. Glass globe is clean and free from chips or cracks. The chrome finish on the base is okay. These’s some pitting and spotting noticeable up close (see pics). There are two small areas of chrome loss on the underside of the globe support (see photos). There’s some electrical tape on the upper section of the cord that goes into the globe. Despite it’s current functionality, we recommend rewiring this lamp. Please enlarge and inspect photos to get the best sense for the item’s condition. Message with any questions.
