Condition is excellent: stamps are MH with no tears, thins or other problems. This issue was printed by the US Bureau of Engraving and Printing, and was intended for use by the Allied Military Government in French liberated areas. Instead, the stamps were transferred to the Free French in July 1944. They were put on sale in liberated areas of France as the Allied armies advanced, and were officially issued in Paris on October 9, 1944. Scott catalogue value for this set is $29.75.
