Description: An absolutely wonderful piece of vintage folk art! This was discovered in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, that wonderful bread basket of great folk art. It's obviously modeled on a weathervane. I call it a whirligig because both the bird and the heart turn independently. The vane below is not designed to turn. These do not turn so easily that a regular breeze or wind would turn them. They would have to be turned manually. This is painted on both sides and I have shown this in the photos. This measures approximately 21.5 inches at the maximum length and about just under 14 inches at the maximum height. An imaginative and colorful design that will just look better and better with the years!
