Description: A friend who recently passed and, who actively served his military time in Vietnam gave me this 1921 silver dollar coin, along with several other unrelated memorabilia pieces of from his initiation time in the 101st Army Airborne unit (Band of Brothers). I was shocked to unexpectedly receive this gift. When he explained that he carried it throughout his tour he did not mention the below `sewn into a hat' - I assumed that it was just for good luck - but, I certainly would not have put it past him if he felt that it gave him any edge in a fight.Update: A professional collector here on Ebay pointed out that the "S" (San Francisco US mint) mint mark indicates that this coin was a quality faked coin from many decades ago because only the Morgan dollar was produced in San Francisco in 1921. So, I have relisted this from $175 to $49 as an economical option for a new or experienced collector, or especially someone who appreciates that it trudged through the Vietnam war for two years as a `good luck' piece for a US soldier (see below link). I am keeping his yellowed Ace of Spades card. https://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/forums/forum/ken-jasper-international-militaria-forums/u-s-militaria-forum/398186-silver-dollar-sewn-behind-airborne-cap-patch I will also pay the cost of USPS economy shipping to you.
