Description: A lovely plate from the Faiencerie Heraldique de Pierrefonds founded in 1903 along the Seine. Went on to become a successful pottery famous for its nicely crystalline glazed vases etc between the wars. Early on made heraldic ware with subjects dating back to the 14th- 15th century France. This plate is one in the series about the life of a Seigneur in 14th century France. The quote at the top says “La Vie d’Un Seigneur au XIV siecle” ( the life of a lord of the manor in the 14th century). “L’Enfance” (Infancy). It measures 9 inches across and is beautifully hand decorated. Sadly it has a hairline crack at 12o’clock as can be seen on the pix. It measures 2 inches and extends from the edge to the base rim.
