Description: This is an original, “Not Dug” artifact from the Civil War era. It is a hot-dipped tin-plated sheet metal steel cup with the handle that is flanged to remain captured by the upper and lower rims. This was important to prevent the soldering from letting loose if the cup was in the camp fire and it got hotter than the solder melt temperature. This may indicate a post-civil war timeframe. Dimensions: 3-1/2” diameter, 2-1/2” tall with 1-3/8” handle distance from the cup. The handle is 1 “ at the top and has the additional strengthening rib along the center.
