Description: A rare, first edition of the “Personal Memoirs of P.H. Sheridan”.—a famous United Staes Army General for the Union during the Civil War. Book has 2 stamps from the Publishers and Booksellers Protective Association and is NUMBERED 155509 on spine and back cover. General Sheridan is often considered to be one of the foremost Union commanders in the United States. Sheridan writes of his role as the commander of the United States Army during all the famous Civil War battles and battles with the Indians. These fascinating contents are depicted by the several steel engraved plates and maps, including a steel engraving of General Custard from the Confederate side. Fascinating first hand accounts. There is a small French note inside the book. The book has condition (as pictured) on both covers and issues with loose spine. There is foxing throughout the book, but the pages are nice and clear and the engravings and maps are in great condition. Definitely a rare book to find and a rare book to own, especially because it is numbered.
