Well... deep cut quote or not, I'm sellin. Some of the pipes you see listed are from my private collection and others I have simply purchased in passing. My pipes are ready to smoke once you receive them. A bit about this pipe: Created in 1863 by the companies namesake, Frederick Charatan, the Charatan’s brand has a stories and famed history, that of the giants in the industry such as Dunhill and Petersons. Charatan was the very first brand to make hand-made briars from the rough block to completed pipe, including the stem. Having been the undisputed pinnacle of English pipe making, Charatan was approached by Alfred Dunhill, who at the time was unsatisfied with the quality of the pipes he had imported from France. Through 1908 to 1910 Dunhill bought pipes from Charatan and paid exorbitant prices to ensure he had some of the very best pipes for sale in England. In 1910 Alfred Dunhill stole away Joel Sasieni, one of Charatan's best carvers, and opened his famed pipe workshop on 28 Duke Street. During the war (WWII) Charlatan’s lost their factory in a German bombing raid. After rebuilding the brand changed hands several times and in its final days, 1988 and forward, was owned by Dunhill.
