It has been maintained so that all current functions are in working order.The unit is in good condition with no noticeable scratches. It is the only Carrozzeria audio unit that is equipped with a function to record to a HDD. Moreover, this unit is a development prototype. As it is a prototype, it has some different specifications from the retail version and some functions have not been implemented. All functions of the DEH-P999 (CD/tuner DSP unit) worked without any problems. Issues confirmed - When recording from CD to HDD, the first song is not recorded, but the second song onwards are recorded normally - Songs on the HDD can only be deleted one at a time - Check-in from memory stick to HDD is not possible (check-out is possible) - Some press lines on the case are omitted - There is no reinforcement plate on the back of the front panel - No stickers at all (no serial number) - Recording to HDD is possible at 176kbps (product version is only 132 and 105kbps) - The developer's name is automatically added to the artist name of the recorded song (multiple names confirmed, matching the authors of the paper published by Pioneer at the time) - The revision of the chip implemented is different from the product version Etc... Based on the data in the HDD, I would guess that this unit was used at the development center from 6 months to 4 months before the product was released. According to an analysis of the HDD, the power was turned on 700 times and the usage time was about 20 hours, so I guess it was used for tabletop development rather than for in-vehicle testing. A different HDD is attached when taking photos, so the actual remaining recording time is about 110 hours at 176kbps. This model was developed by Pioneer at the time, bringing together the best of their technology.You can feel the hard work that went into making it from this prototype. In particular, it exceeds the production version in that it is capable of recording at a bit rate of 176kbps, making it a rare case where the prototype has better performance. To be honest, it is quite valuable so I do not recommend buying it for car use, and I have no intention of selling it at a low price. This product is an authentic product sold in Japan.
