Description: This is a very rare porcelain milk, cream or syrup jug which was made by The Royal porcelain factory KPM for King Wilhelm II of Prussia and Germany and his Queen Augusta. It was part of a royal table service made by the KPM company for King Wilhelm of Prussia and Queen Augusta. On the front it has the gold crown of the kings of Prussia and Germany. Under the crown it has the gold and red monogram W over A for Wilhelm and Augusta. (the gilt is worn on the monogram but the outlines of the initials can be seen. -please see photos) This jug has a gilded split handle with ends forming shapes of leaves and a gilded spout with a 3 leaf mask under the spout. It has four raised ridges stripes (two on each side) that run from the top to the bottom of the jug. The top rim is gilded with a blue ring underneath.Hall marks: It has the KPM underglaze mark of the dark blue scepter; also the iron red imperial orb and the letters KPM also in iron red. It has 2 dots in blue, #20 in red, a backwards S impressed, a 4 impressed and a ? heart impressed. KPM was the porcelain manufactory in Berlin. It was owned in that period by the Royal family and made most of the table ware for the Royal families. It is still famous worldwide for its exceptionally fine quality of porcelain. Its quality pieces graced the homes and tables of the royalty of the world throughout the 18th, 19th and into the 20th centuries. The condition is perfect with minor use wear to the gold.Size: 5" tall, 6" at widest including the spout and handle.
