Description: This very collectible bug/winged insect brooch pin by designer Adele Simpson is from the 1940's. Adele Simpson only produced jewelry for a limited amount of time in the 1940's and 1950's, making her pieces more rare. Simpson's jewelry was known for the quality of design as well as the quality of workmanship, both clearly seen in this wonderful insect bug pin. This bug brooch is set in brass and has a large faceted amber colored stone for its body. The wings are two green marquis or Navette cut rhinestones and the head is a faceted round teal blue chaton rhinestone. The large yellow amber colored stone is securely set in a usual setting with the back displaying the signature "Simpson". The other stones are securely set in 4 prong brass settings. This lovely Simpson bug pin measures 1 1/2 inches long approximately x 1 1/4 inches wide approximately. All stones sparkle in the light and are in very good vintage condition.
