At most, it has been played minimally and handled w/ extreme care. Importantly, the disc has little to no overt scratches, scuffs or any other surface marks on it! In sum, the disc truly is essentially in "like" new condition. The CD comes with original booklet and case, both of which are in superb condition w/ no notable flaws or problems. There are no rips, stains, writing, stickers, broken parts, etc. At most, there may be some barely noticeable surface scuffs or light scratches on the the clear plastic CD holder from the 20+ years of storage and occasional handling and which really have no practical significance.This is a Teldec CD, which is well known for producing the very best quality classical CDs. Moreover, this is a Digital (DDD) Live Recording with truly great sound quality. The original recording took occurred in 1993. This CD was released in 1995. Masur is a legendary conductor here leading the New York Philharmonic, one of the superb orchestras of the world. The performances of these great works have been critically acclaimed and truly are remarkable!The CD has over 49 minutes of music. In addition to complete performance of Brahm's 2nd Symphony, there is a performance of his Academic Festival Overture. More details of the recordings and the music are included in the CD's booklet and the listing's photos. This CD originally sold for over $15. It now is Out of Print and no longer available to be purchased new. In fact, it is extreme demand and VERY difficult to find any copies of this CD for sale; at the time of this posting, I could find only ONE other copy for sale anywhere and that copy was selling out of Germany! To that end, not only does this quality CD contain wonderful music, it also is a collector's item that is increasingly hard to obtain- in any event, it would be a highlight of any music collection!
