Description: Ballantine’s Illustrated History of WWII Complete Set of 154 These books are in fair to very good condition. Don’t expect perfection, expect readable quality. They are composed of everything from first edition to fourth edition. It took me 40 years to amass this set and I don’t want to spend more time inventorying the volume edition of each one. It’s the only complete set I have ever seen. I started collected these using my lunch money in Jr. High at a hobby shop in Manchester Missouri in 1973 and bought my last one (weapons book 30) a few weeks ago here in Ebay. BTW, the last three I bought aren't shown in the photos including leader book 29 "Tojo" and the two special series Nazi and SS Regalia. But they will be included with the set if you buy these for the total 154. Quite the Saga. New these books were retailed at about $1.75 and over the years the lower volume ones are selling north of $40/each. My asking price is $16/book and considering the rarity of some, this is not a bad price. Don’t ask to break them up, not a chance. These are going to a history buff like me who will appreciate having the set. I hope to read them all before they sell but who knows. Update 8/2024 - Someone pointed out I was missing the War leaders book Tojo as well as the two special series Regalia books. While I dont consider the two special series books part of the original series, I have now acquired all three for a full series "plus two" at a total of 154 books. For example Mussolini in my leaders lot is printed as an 8, same as Goring but it should be 13 (yea, he was unlucky right?) · There are two books about the P-40. First is weapons book 29. Its "Flying Tigers, Chennault in China". A bit confusion in the past as there is also a weapons book 14 that is "Pacific Hawk". · Chindits Should be weapons book 34 · Schweinfurt disaster in the skies is Weapons Book 13 (This should be mandatory reading for anyone interested in WWLL History) · Pacific Onslaught is Weapons book 21 · Operation Torch is Weapons book 22 · There doesn’t appear to be a weapons book “The Buccaneers” by B. Cooper · So the last Weapons book is Number 44 -DC-3 by A. Pearcy. ____________________________________________________________ Payment Payment: Due within 48 hours of auctions close.
