Description: Keokuk is a form of chert found in Oklahoma that has been used by southern plains natives since 12,000 years ago. Quarries about 40 feet across, and dug down about 5 feet have been found not far from Tulsa. The stone is relatively easy to work and would have been used extensively in the south central region of North America.
