Description: This is an opportunity to own a nice piece of history minted early in his reign as Caesar. It is very nice as you can clearly read the legends on the obverse and reverse. This is a genuine coin of Augustus, mentioned in the Bible, struck in bronze, and in the exact condition you see pictured. This coin features a portrait of Augustus with legend on the obverse and AVGVSTVS within wreath on the reverse. This is a coin that has been sought after by collectors for years. It is a chance to own one that is guaranteed authentic. Grading is subjective. In my opinion, this coin is a stong VG and possibly a low F. I think it looks better in hand. I wonder if it has been repatinated but I am not positive. This coin is either RPC I 2235 or 4100. Because of the wear pattern, I am not completely certian. I think the size goes slightly more to 2235, but the reverse lends itself to 4100. If I had to go with one, I would say it is 4100.
