The others on the internet that are very much like it are valued all over the place. Mind you, there are none EXACTLY like it. This one has etching on both sides; appears to be etched on both sides; and the images etched are of 2 people. The 2 people are kind of smiling--you have to look very closely.This technique of medallion making is called "piercing it" and that accounts for the holes, or the negative space. I actually cannot imagine how it was achieved. This is truly an amazing piece of jade. Although jade is not a highly valued stone, this one is cut so thin, and is carved so intricately, that it has gained a whole lot of value. I daresay it was carved, pierced, shaped by means of some ancient method. Please look at all the photos and read everything I've written about the condition and description of this item.
