Description: Up for offer here is an antique, early 20th century, hand painted wooden primitive Folk Art large size whirly gig weathervane featuring a man sawing wood with a silhouette of a half cut tree in front of him. The red and white painted whirly fan spins around when it catches the wind and the spinning action raises and lever pulley that animates the man into a sawing a log on stand movement. It is whimsical and ingenious. Overall great condition, only very minor paint loss on pant legs and saw horse stand, a small chip off the top of hat. Hand crafted, forged nails and old wire, this comes with removable chunky old wood display mount stand. Measures approximately 27" x 26" x 17".
