Description: This antique Victorian thread spool holder/pin cushion box is a beautiful addition to any sewing collection. Crafted from mahogany wood, this sewing box comes with a drawer, thread spindles and a pin cushion top. The box measures 4 1/2" in length, 7 1/2" in height, and 4 1/4" in width. The pin cushion fabric was replaced in the 1970s, so is not in great condition. The box is missing one spindle and the center piece that attaches the pin cushion to the base is loose and needs to be glued. Although the spindles are original, they are not long enough to stay put in the holes if the box is being moved. There are some scuffs and scratches on the wood, but no cracks, or chips to note. The bottom of the box is marked with the number 353, but there is no makers brand mark.This is a unique and rare piece. This sewing box comes from a smoke free home.
