Antique Pair French NORMANDY LACE Boudoir Pillows CUTWORK/WHITEWORK/VAL LACE

Description: Wonderful HTF pair of antique French Normandy patchwork lace boudoir pillows in a creamy white. Pillows are netted on the back and close with tiny mother of pearl buttons. Both pillows have ornate floral motifs of hand embroidery work alternating with a variety of handmade laces, including Valenciennes laces, hand stitched to create wonderful designs. The embroidery work consists of florals worked with padded satin stitches, as well as open work filling stitches. Although each pillow has different laces, they both have the same design on the whitework embroidery. Both pillows still have their original satin covered inner pillows which are creamy white. I am including the inner pillows so that if someone wants to change the color satin they will have a pattern to use. Purchased from a Chicago area estate. One pillow is ovalish with a straight bottom. It measures 14” across the bottom and 10” measuring from base to top not including the 1 3/4” ruffled lace edging. The other pillow is a very unusual triangle shape that measures 18” across the bottom and 15” on each side not including the 1 3/4” ruffled lace border. The Normandy work is in excellent condition. I do not see any stains or marks. There are no separations or tears. The triangle pillow form has 2 small spots on the back. (See pics). Please enlarge photos for details. 2273
