The solid silver very sharp curved blade is cut with two narrow fullers on each face and slender grooves, and it has a finely shaped, pierced, engraved ricasso inlaid with copper dots. The blade widens towards the pronounced, finely-shaped, and pierced tip, inlaid with five copper dots. A hilt of classical Mandau form with an ornate brass pommel pierced and engraved with “aso” motifs, topped by a short hair tuft, a wood grip bound with twisted silver wire, and mounted with a brass ferrule. Wood scabbard carved with “aso” motifs and bound with three plated rattan bands. MEASUREMENTS: The overall length of the sword sheathed in the scabbard, including the hair tuft, is 23cm (9.6 inches). Overall length without the scabbard: 20 cm (7.87 inches). CONDITION: Showing age and usage, the wood scabbard is chipped and cracked on one side and has an exceptional age patina.
