Description: Antique Makah or Nootka Woven NW Coast Indian Basket with Lid, estimated to be from 1895-1910. The basket is beautifully woven, from cedar and grasses. The stitches and edges of the form are very crisp and exacting. Design: There are 6 canoes, each with two figures, and also two ducks. Condition: For an antique basket, it is in very good condition. It has some light fading, and there is a small area of damage along the inside flange of the rim. This area is not visible when the lid is in place. See all photos.
