Description: Previously owned antique Japanese Samurai Katana sword. Unsure of the exact time period this was produced. It measures just a little over 25" from tip to end. From the look of this I am not sure if this had already been resized and the blade shortened. The nakago (tang) has been exposed and you can see some sort of Japanese etchings but its very faint and very difficult to capture with a camera. With the etchings closer to the end of the blade it appears overall the blade may have been resized at sometime in its life. Not 100% sure on this, just some research and thus come to this possible conclusion. The ito appears to be shoelace that was added more recently in time. The blade does have major rusting however this shows its age and history. If you wish you can try and restore the sword and this will make a wonderful project! Does not come with a sheath.
