Although this frame may be older it looks very similar to ones dating from the 1850's.This frame was probably created and used for a small portrait.The portrait would have been held in place by a gilt ormolu trim that fit inside of the oval cut-out. Regrettably I do not have the original trim or portrait! This listing is for one mid-19th Century boulle picture frame. Please review the photographs carefully!
