Balanced on a two piece highly polished planished plinth, the “fragile” lotus blossom shaped silver platform nestles a finely engraved dragon between the applied oversize silver handles, designed not only for ease of use but to add gravitas to this otherwise dainty sweetmeat dish. The engraved form is well executed and the factory mark legible but the artisan’s chop is not as easily deciphered. While there is some light scratching, the piece is in extremely good antique condition for a circa 1900 example with no repairs or bruises evident.
