Description: This antique walking stick which is made of bamboo cane has a bamboo root handle, silver monogrammed collar and cleverly conceals a pull out horse measuring stick that is marked for top maker Swaine & Adeney, 185 Piccadilly, London. This wood and brass measure nicely slots inside the cane, has a fitted spirit level and can measure a horse up to 17 hands. The measure displays in hands and cm. This wonderful quality cane has a beautiful rich patina, dates from c1900, has a brass tip and is a good length at 95.5 cm.
